Safety: MINIMUM FOR ALL CLASSES

Weights are to be painted white with the kart number in a contrasting color.
Weight bolts are to be a minimum of 5/16″, must beretained by safety wire,cotter pins or double nuts.
NO weights mounted to the body, they must be mounted to the frame or seat.
ALL linkages and fasteners on steering,brakes, spindles must be retained by safety wire, safety pins or cotter pins. NO nylon locking fasteners.
Mechanical lock nuts may be used on brake rotor bolts.
Steering and brakes must be fully operational.
Exhaust pipe must be supported. Exhaust fasteners and silencer must be safety wired. Double nuts allowed on header studs.
Heat wrap on exhaust pipe MANDATORY.
Oil catch can required.
Billet flywheel, Aluminum or steel: per NKA rules.
Numbers must be on a contrasting color backround. Visible all 4 sides. NO metal number plates.
Helmet cams can only be mounted by adhesive, NO bolting.
The Safety decisions of the track officials are final and non-negotiable.
All helmets used must be full coverage(full face), with the face-shield installed, designed for competitive use in motorsports.
Chest Protecters highly recommended.
Cold Pits-No driving in the pits.
Pit Pass: For insurance purposes and for the safety of any person entering competition or a restricted area, that person must sign a release form and will be given a wristband. Wristbands should be visible at all times and must be displayed upon the request of any track official. Failure to comply with this rule at all times will result in the immediate ejection from the pit area.
Anyone entering the pits without a pit pass will be ejected from the pits for two (2) races and assessd a $25 fine. If they are part of a pit crew or family member of the driver, the driver can forfeit all points for that race. Unauthorized entry into the pit area is not permitted. This includes other driver’s pit areas as well. For your safety and the safety of others, stay in your designated pit area. If there is a problem, the outsider will be ejected per above rules. Any unauthorized use of the speedway is strictly prohibited. NO ONE IS ALLOWED ON THE SPEEDWAY WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM A TRACK OFFICIAL.
Driver Requirements: Driver must be a minimum of 5 years of age. All drivers must satisfactorily demonstrate driving capability to speedway officials if requested to do so. It is the drivers responsibility to make sure that they are registered and draw before the cut-off time. Registration begins 90 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the race. Registration ends 15 minutes before the scheduled race time. After that, registration may be made, but the driver must start at the back of the field for both heat races.
Knowledge Of The Rules: All individuals are responsible to know the rules, policies and regulations set forth herein, and those, which may be added during the season. Information contained in periodically distributed update sheets will become effective immediately upon distribution unless otherwise noted. Driver and/or kart owner assumes full responsibility for their kart as well as the conduct of their pit crew and spectators and shall be the sole spokesperson thereof.
General Regulations
Assumption Of Risk: All individuals assume full responsibility for any and all injuries sustained, or for property damage incurred while on the race premise, en route, or to or from the speedway. No individual will have any claim for expenses or damage against 56 Speedway, its promoters, or officials, regardless of negligence claim expenses or damages against 56 Speedway, its promoters, or officials, regardless of negligence. All patrons must stay behind the pit fence and pole.
Insurance: We do not provide insurance coverage on vehicles in pits or infield. The primary responsibility for the safe condition and operation of a kart rests with the owner and/or driver.
Accident Policy: All injury reports are to be filed with the speedway on the day of the mishap. Failure to do so may result in denial of a claim by the insurance company.
Participation: No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from publication of our compliance with these rules. Anyone may inspect the race course. By participation you deem the race course acceptable for competition.
Inspection: Any kart is subject to a full inspection by a track official at any time. Failure to comply will result in disqualification. Following the conclusion of each feature race, the top four (4) feature karts, and any other kart designated by track officials, will immediately proceed to the scale area and will remain there until all karts have been inspected and/or approved and released by track officials.
Conduct: Any of the following can be reason for immediate ejection from the Speedway. *This applies to drivers, crew and spectators. Any abusive language, fighting, arguing with race officials, or unsportsman like conduct. Anyone approaching the flag man or scorer during the race can be automatically disqualified for the day. THIS INCLUDES DRIVERS, PIT CREWS, FAMILY MEMBERS AND SPECTATORS.
Points: Season points will have 1 throw-out show (Worst show or No show NOT to include any shortened shows)In the event of a weather cancellation of the last scheduled point show it will be moved to the next scheduled show for the season.
Trophies for Season Points will be awarded to the top 3 in each class provided that the driver participaed in half of the seasons shows.
Nightly Feature Trophies: Throphies will be awarded as follows
3 karts or less- 1st place
4-6 karts – 1st and 2nd place
7 or more karts 1st,2nd & 3rd place
Drivers Are Responsible For Their Pit Crews.
Decisions: All decisions concerning score keeping, suspension, disqualification, fines, and interpretation of rules by the speedway are final and only subject to change at the discretion of track officials. Questions regarding race procedure or other decisions will not be discussed while the race program is in progress. Anyone not adhering to this rule will be penalized at track official’s discretion, which may include, but not limited to, ejection, suspension and/or forfeiture of points.
56 Speedway reserves the right to allow a driver to change a class regardless of the driver’s age. This means that a driver may be allowed to run in a class when said driver does not fall into the age guidelines. The driver will abide by all rules for the class that he has moved in to. This will only be done when just cause to make an exception has been demonstrated.
Pit Area:
No driving of karts while under power in the pit area. ABSOLUTELY NO HOT PITS WILL BE PERMITTED for Karts (Mini-Mods are an exception to the rule). A $25.00 fine will be enforced for any driver not complying with this rule.
Tech Items:
Tires: Any kart tires must be slicks.
Tire Prepping: There will be NO chemical tire prepping used at the track .
Karts: All bolts must be safely wired or secured with lock nuts. Brakes must be fully operational for both rear wheels. Add-on weights must be painted white, have the kart number clearly displayed on the weight, and be bolted on securely per above specs.
Safety Equipment:
Gloves: Gloves are Required and Must be worn
Headgear: Full coverage (full-face) helmets designed for competitive motor uses and complying with a minimum of the Snell Foundation 2000 OR DOT specifications is mandatory. Helmets must be in good condition and are subject to pre-tech inspection.
Eye Protection: Eye protection is mandatory, whether goggles designed for motor sports use or a full visor integral with the helmet.
Neck Brace: Collar type, unaltered neck braces designed for motor sports use is mandatory in all classes.
Driver Apparel: Chest and/or rib protectors are HIGHLY recommended. Drivers are required to wear long sleeves; recommended jackets of leather, vinyl, or abrasive resistant nylon or equivalent. Full length jeans or protective race pants required to prevent or minimize abrasions. Fully enclosed shoes are manditory. High top sneakers or racing shoes, socks, fire suit.
Safety Tech: Every driver’s personal safety equipment is subject to a pre-tech inspection. Any kart not passing the safety inspection will not be allowed on the track.
The rules and regulations set forth and contained herein are designed to provide for the orderly and SAFE conduction of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable standards and requirements for said events.
Track officials will act upon any rules not covered as situations arise and will be added to the rules as necessary.
Race Procedure
Track Officials: All practice and competition activity on the track is under the immediate control of the flagman, Pit Stewards, and Scorers. All competitors shall adhere to their directions.
If the caution flag is brought out after the white flag has been throw , the race will be scored on the white flag lap and will be considered complete.
IF YOU SPIN OUT AND ARE STILL UNDER POWER AND CAPABLE OF CONTINUING, THE CAUTION FLAG WILL NOT BE THROWN. Anyone intentionally causing yellows/cautions will be black flagged.
Any entry not in staging area when previous race has ended is subject to start scratch (in the rear of the field) for the race.
Start: All karts must stay in line and maintain pace. No acceleration until reaching the designated start line. Inside pole kart sets the pace and green flag starts the race. If caution is thrown before completion of one (1) lap, drivers will line up in original positions. A single file restart may be signaled at the Flagman’s discretion. Putt-Putt and Rookies will start from standing start.
Restart After One Lap Complete: Line up is in the order in which the karts were scored, on the last completed green flag lap.
Passing: Both drivers have responsibilities in a passing situation. The driver attempting the pass has the primary responsibility to see that the pass is preformed in a safe and controlled manner. The overtaken kart may not have more than incidental contact with the kart that is passing them or cause the driver to change their line. The driver being passed has the right to maintain their line. However, when the driver has their front wheels even with the seat of the kart they are trying to pass (½ kart length), they are considered to be alongside the driver being passed and may not change their line in an attempt to block or maneuver in a way that can cause a spin or an accident.
Contact: Some incidental contact will occur during close racing. This is normal. Excessive contact, or contact where there is a sharp speed differential is not permitted. Excessive bumping, nudging, blocking, pushing, etc that is intentional is not permitted. It is up to the flagman and track officials to determine if it was done intentional
Flag Descriptions and Procedures:
There will be 5 colored flags used by the flagman to control the race. They are Yellow, Green, White, Checkered, Blue/Orange and Black. It is the flagman’s job to relay information regarding the status of the race to the drivers by waving the various flags. It is the responsibility of the drivers to observe the flagman’s motions each time he/she passes by the flag stand during the race.
Green Flag: Begin racing. When it has been determined that all karts are lined up in the proper position and the track is clear, the flagman will wave the green flag to start the race. On all starts and restarts, the race will begin when the green flag is waved. The held up Green flag signifies 2 laps to go.
Yellow Flag: Caution on the track. Slow down and hold your position. The yellow flag is also know as the caution flag. The caution flag will be thrown at the discretion of the flagman if there is a dangerous situation on the track.
Crossed yellow and Green Flags: The race is at the mid-way point.
White Flag: Signifies one (1) lap remaining in the race.
Checker Flag: The checkered flag is waved when the person leading the race crosses the finish line at the completion of the last lap. The first person to complete the designated number of laps for the race is declared the winner.
Blue/Orange Flag: The Blue/Orange flag will be waved to signify that the leader is coming up behind you and you are to allow the leaders to go by you.
Black Flag: A rolled-up pointed black flag signifies a warning of bad driving. If the black flag is waved at you, you are to pull off the track immediately in a safe and cautious manner
